WTF!?!?

Wow horrible day yesterday for the NFL. Lots of key defensive players are gone not for a few weeks...the entire season.

The NFL just seems down this year. Sure a lot of teams are undefeated and playing well, a lot more than previous years. But we have so many just god awful teams and so many injuries. It's horrible.

I wonder how much the league owners are all for the extended season now? Marquee guys are going down and teams are struggling for it as it is. This is only week 6 or 7? Imagine if teams had to play another 12 games instead of just 10.

I'm not sure that the owners wanting a longer season and their players health has much correlation.

The players union is a different story.

But obviously the owners have to see this affects the bottom line. Less talent on the field leads to losses leads to less media leads to less tickets, less advertising, less etc.

How many stars getting hurt in the final two games of the year are going to affect the bottom line enough to offset the additional revenue they get from those games.

If a star gets hurt in the final two games and a team is in the playoff hunt, fans will still go. If a star gets hurt in the final two games and a team is out of the playoff hunt, fans will still stay away.

IMO doesn't seem like it would change much.
