Mike Holmgren is in Cleveland with his agent (Deal agreed to).

Today is the second day there, he's not scheduled to leave tomorrow and his agent came today after having a very public dinner with Lerner yesterday.

Reports are that Holmgren wants to be in his new job by Christmas...so we'll see. If this is all true then for Browns fans.

I agree with Packman here. Holmgren the coach is a lot better then Holmgren the personnel guy.

Whoever comes in is going to be the President of Football Ops, aka be the Browns version of Bill Parcells.

That same person will then hire his GM then they'll make the decision on Mangini. Basically, whoever they hire to be the Tsar *going old school* is going to set the vision and bring people in to run it that way.

In short, he will have the power to make them but he isn't in charge of ALL decisions.

Well, in Seattle, he had a kickass offense...not great d. But he could evaluate talent with the best of them.

He's said multiple times that he really wants that type of job.

Think about it, get paid millions to have a part time job and have your own private jet.

He could, realistically, fly to work every day.

I think Holmgren gets a bad rep for his GM abilities. He's had plenty of defensive gaffes, sure, but the man knows how to build an offense and knows how to evaluate the offensive talent. He did draft Alexander and Hutchinson and handpicked Hasselbeck to be his QB.

I'd take Holmgren the personnel guy over whomever Cleveland has had in there the last 10 years. Holmgren the personnel guy put together a SB-caliber team in Seattle.
