Re: Best Kicker in the NFL

Man! I was looking forward to a Neil Rackers tackle. I could done without seeing that miss. That was El-choke-arific. Just terrible. I hope he got that out of his system. I'm not ready for him to be fired...yet.

Rackers is the perfect Cardinals kicker. Like the team, he can be good but he's inconsistent. A few years he got a pair of his shoes submitted to the Hall of fame. He couldn't miss. The following year he was just horrible. And just when Cards fans thought he was getting over it, he kicks one of the worse looking short kicks in playoff history.

Re: Best Kicker in the NFL

People are making excuses for Kaeding. Rookie in the rain in the wind in the playoffs in a GW situation.

Yes, you're a professional kicker. If you're one of the 32 best kickers in the world, you should make that.

With that said, you can't ignore his career statistics since coming into the league. They say he is the best. The thread is best kicker, not most clutch. I think we know who that goes to...

So if Sanchez and the Jets lose to the Chargers on Sunday then his rookie status can't be brought up?

It shouldn't be an excuse. The Jets showed they could win with him during the regular season and last week against Cincinnati in the playoffs, where rookies are supposed to shrivel up and die. So if they lose, you can't say it's because Sanchez is a rookie because he's already proved that he can win, and play well, in the playoffs.

Plus, I think comparing a rookie QB to a rookie kicker isn't fair. QB's hold the most responsibility of any player on the field. Kickers are asked to kick the ball off to the opposing team and kick the ball through the uprights when called upon. Kicking in the NFL seems to me to be the easiest transition from college to professional football. And Kaeding's miss was at home, too, so it wasn't some foreign stadium either. I just think, for Kaeding as a rookie kicker, bringing up his experience in the NFL isn't a very good excuse for missing kick.
