I think this becomes a somewhat of a shoot out it's close for awhile but saints pull away with there high power offense.

Saints 42
Cards 31

Fun fact for ya . . .

Among all NFL playoff coaches still playing, Sean Payton has the most tenure with his team with four years.

I don't know if it really means much for this game, but gimme the Saints anyway.

Brees is going be Hungry after having to sit. Seeing some local media coverage Brees really wants this one. I wasnt happy about the benching at the time ,but the type of person Drew is I think he's going be super sharpe this post-season especially this first game. Not to mention this is the healthiest this Saints team has been since week 7 or 8.

No way the Saints lose!

I think they win bigger than I originally perdicted.

Saints sign Deuce McCallister..

Even if he doesn't play one single down, I like this move.

Classy move. Almost like Colts owner giving Edge a ring even though he wasnt on the team that year.

People were throwing it around as a possibility but I didn't think that it would actually happen. I'm really glad Payton signed him and hopefully it can end with him getting a ring.

NEW ORLEANS -- All-time leading rusher and fan favorite Deuce McAllister has rejoined the New Orleans Saints a day before the team will face the Arizona Cardinals in the playoffs, sources close to the Saints tell WDSU.

McAllister was cut from the team in February 2009, shortly after undergoing knee surgery.

Sources tell WDSU that McAllister could be used in two ways in the team's playoff run. The team has been without a regular fullback since Heath Evans was injured, and McAllister could provide pass protection and blocking for the quarterback.

In addition, running back Pierre Thomas has three broken ribs, and though he is expected to play, McAllister would give the team added depth at that position.

Sources tell WDSU that Rodney Leslie, a defensive tackle who was signed two weeks ago, was cut to make room on the roster for McAllister.

The popular running back spent his entire professional career with the Saints, and after he was cut, he vowed to play in the NFL again. He was selected in the first round of the 2001 NFL draft after a record-setting college career at Ole Miss.

"We left on good terms," McAllister said of the Saints after his release. "I was down there last week working out. I still talk to a lot of the guys. When we see them, we still hang out. There’s no hard feelings in New Orleans on my behalf."

He's gonna be inactive. Honorary captain.
