Bust at QB. Sleeper at left tackle?

JaMarcus Russell reportedly weighed in at 290 pounds when he reported for the Raiders' offseason program.
So Oakland can scratch left tackle off its list of needs. Russell was initially reported to weigh 271, but many close to the situation immediately doubted that report. Russell, annually and incredibly overweight, isn't doing anything to shed his emerging label as the biggest bust in NFL history. Mar. 26 - 9:00 pm et

I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it looks more and more like this guy is flat out lazy.

He can go a long way in helping his cause by just coming into off-season workout's/camp at a good playing weight and in shape. Come on J. Russell. The Raider's gave this guy a ton of money, at least attempt to give them some kind of return on there investment

Re: Jamarcus Russell needs your prayers

He's lazy, stupid... he's got a cannon arm, but that's pretty much it. That's why the Raiders drafted him no. 1, right? 'Cause he had the physical skillset of a top quarterback. It seems like he just can't understand what's happening on the field and is way behind on everything. Relying on his talent might have worked in college, but in the pros he has to work. Guess that's a whole new word for him though.

What a joke.

Just goes to show that attitude and intelligence are far more important at the QB position than the physical skill set. You can have the biggest cannon in the world but if you're dumb as a stick it doesn't mean anything.

He really is a bust, I would have released the FAT BUST a long time ago.

Attitude, definitely. Intelligence? Not really a factor here.

JaMarcus may not have any common sense, or he may just be gaming the system to walk away with as much money as he can with as little work done as possible. That makes him unethical, but not stupid.

I don't see how you can determine how smart a guy is when he's not trying at all.

I would say intelligence plays a factor with Russell when you watch him react in the pocket. He doesn't make good decisions.
