I have Madden 2002, and I've played NFL 2k1&2 on the Dreamcast, and I enjoy both Sega and EA football. But many of the posts here seem to be saying that Madden 2003 is not much more than a roster upgrade from 2002, and I already got a roster upgrade through my Sharkport.

NFL 2k3 sounds great and I'm thinking I should pick that up, and then if I get the urge to play Madden, just play 2002 with the updated rosters.

Can anyone come up with a compelling reason why I need Madden 2003 if I have Madden 2002 and get NFL 2k3?

Easy madden 2003 has way better gameplay then 2002. I mean im still picking up 2k3 also but i mean maddens gameplay owns all imo.

of course you need it. Mini games, improved crowd/atmosphere and commentating and ONLINE PLAY!

I was in the same dilemma as you last night.

After picking up Madden 2003 today, I must say, go pick it up. It is much more than a roster upgrade and offers many new things to the football gaming world.

I'll still be buying 2K3 next week when it releases for the Cube, but needless to say, I would be happy with just Madden.

Again, it is more than just an upgrade, it is a very solid effort on EA's part. Certainly buy it if you do not have NCAA 2003. Besdies, if you dislike it, exchange it for 2K3!

don't let the clowns on this board talk you out of it, some people actually had me thinking madden 2003 was going to the worst thing ever.

Look ea takes prode in there stuff, its not like the wouldn't try to make a good product,

buy both games

Well you don't need the game. LOL There's tons of things more worthy than a video game.

But I know what you are saying

If you like Madden then i'm sure you'll like this one. It has more refined gameplay which you would like.
