I don't think its a bad move at all. If he can stay healthy, he would be a great compliment to Gore.

Well, the backup running back position is certainly open there, so yeah, great fit.

49ers got a solid backup. Hopefully he stays healthy all yr. 49ers fill a hole and get rid of the useless DE Balmer all in one day!

I think Westbrook will bring much needed leadership on the offensive side of the ball and if he can stay healthy he'll be a damn good compliment to Gore. This is a great pickup for the Niners especially if Westbrook can stay healthy.

A friend of mine on Facebook was actually calling for this to happen. The only concern I have is the obvious one, his health. If healthy, obviously, he'll be a fine pickup.

His ability to catch passes out of the backfield could also add a different dimension to the offense.
