The NFL is terrible at marketing its stars other than Big Manning. In a sport where faces are covered they need to market their stars.

*They don't need to market they are successful as an entity but they should market their stars.*

This is why I moved on to baseball. In my eyes, its more entertaining and crazy rules don't fly out the blue. I mean, I'll watch a football game if it comes on, but baseball is my sport now.

Uh-huh.

The NFL's marketing approach ("sell the name on the front of the jersey, not the one on the back") has served the league well for the last 30-40 years. I see no reason to change that now.

To each his own. Personally I'd probably get more enjoyment out of watching a Golden Girls marathon than watching a World Series baseball game.

Ain't this the truth. The area where you are allowed to hit the quarterback already seems as small as a baseball strike zone.

This is the kind of thing that falls in the name of consistency, oh well. Some of the overreactions/generalizations here are comical though. It's entertainment, but it's also a professional competition and a business.

Exactly. He does this and then he and the league complains about fans not showing up to the games as much. I could've sworn this was supposed to fun.
