Has anyone ever said "man that was some great officiating" ?

I looked at the colts vs texans thread and came away with that. Does anyone ever say, "Boy those were some great calls by the refs" or "man that is the best ref I have ever seen"

I know when the officiating sucks, but what about when it is good?

Refs are at their best when you don't notice them. You know they're doing well when no one is complaining.

When the call goes against the other team. Otherwise it's a stupid call.

The only NFL refs who've made a name for themselves and are considered great at their job were Jerry Markbreit and Mike Carey. Any other NFL ref who gets mentioned it's usually because it was badly officiated.

The reason you don't is because everyone hates refs. No one likes penalties. Even if it's a good call, you'll never hear "wow nice job ref. that was definitely a holding call!"

When they do a good job, nobody notices.
When they suck, it's made painfully obvious.
