They're miles apart on a deal and March 4th is not very far away from now.

I really hope not. I'll probably cry if late July rolls around and training camps aren't opening.

Re: NFLPA tells players to prepare for lockout

At this point it looks like it prolly will happen, from all the news and stuff it sounds they are indeed miles apart on negotiations with pretty much little to no compromise on anything over the last year. March 4th is about 4 months away and honestly that doesn't sound like nearly enough time unless one of the sides decide to cave in on several items.

The NFL threatened to cancel their current health insurance? That's just plain stupid on their part, it's pretty obvious the more news that come out the more it makes the NFL look greedy not the players.

When it gets closer to next season and people start to realize how much money they are going to miss out on, they will come around.

Who are the decision makers of the NFLPA? I wonder how many of the players who are actually going to be affected by this agree with their decisions?

Re: NFLPA tells players to prepare for lockout

Owners get paid regardless if there is a season or not from TV deals. The players get nothing. Many players don't save enough to go with pay for 19 months. If they lose the season, players won't get another paycheck until 7/2012 after December. They will get a few thousand for mini-camp, etc.
