Former San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Singletary is expected to reach a deal to become the Minnesota Vikings' linebackers coach, according to a source who says the likelihood of Singletary joining Minnesota's staff "looks good."

Frazier and Singletary played together on the mid-80's Chicago Bears defense and have remained close friends and professional associates since then. so much so, Singletary has not yet formally interviewed with the Vikings, and may not need to.

our present LB Coach was promoted to interim Defensive Coordinator when Frazier was made interim Head Coach, and is expected to become the team's permanent DC.

Pretty good hire IMO. The best Singletary hopes to be in this league is a DC so having him as the LB coach isn't too bad.

Since when was Kevin Greene a head coach?

I had to actually go to the Packers site as I didn't know he had gone into coaching. You gotta love his pic though!

It sucks for head coaches to take such a demotion huh? I could only imagine. But they love the game on a level I couldnt imagine so they take what they can get I guess.

Mike IMO can only be a HC or a position coach. I don't think he has the X's & O's knowledge to be a coordinator.

I think it's a great move for the Vikings....that's where Singletary needs to be, a position coach.

Sorry about the Greene addition...I guess I was lumping notable ex-players in with ex-coaches in my mind.
