How far back would they have to move the PAT to make the 2-point conversion the preferred option after a touchdown? Right now 2pt conversions are successful something like 47%, a little short of being a good gamble most of the time. If PATs were at the 15 or 20 the success rate would be more like 90% instead of 99%, that would make the choice between kicking and going for two an interesting one for many teams.

I wouldn't mind seeing the roles reversed, make the 2pt conversion attempt the smart choice the majority of the time, with the PAT only being used when the situation warrants it. It would be considerably more entertaining than the majority of the "improvements" they have been making.

I like Belichick, but this is a terrible idea. The PAT is fine as it is, it's a key point in each game especially when two point conversions come into play and although mostly it's a go-through-the-motions deal, it can result in some critical misses.

This is a non-issue and hopefully the trigger happy rules committee doesn't jump on it. It seems like we have 30 new or changed rules every year.
