Burns my A$$ that Emmitt is going pass Sweetness. I'm hoping for a sniper to take out #22's left knee.

I'm a Bills' fan -- since 1973, mind you -- and hate the Cowboys with zeal, but the above statement is beyond silly. Emmitt Smith is an easy first-ballot Hall of Famer and one of the top 10 backs in NFL history.

No one was better inside the 5 in the 90s, and the guy has been an absolute warrior with an amazingly long career at the position that takes the worst beating in the NFL. Emmitt has more than 16,000 career rushing yards, and he's overrated?

Get a clue. And remember: I hate the Cowboys probably more than you do.

I agree w/ you that he was the best inside the 5. He is overrated now. He just is not as good as he used to be but that is what happens when you play that many years. I am really amazed that he has lasted this long and plays all the homegames on turf. If he was on grass he could probably play for a year or 2 longer. Definately one of the top 10 of all time. #1 Bo Jackson. He would own all the records if he could have kept playing.

He ran behind one of the best offensive lines in history. Put Payton, or Sanders in there and they have 20-25k career rushing easy. Emmitt has been the most overrated RB in history.

Umm, anyone that says Emmit is overrated, really doesnt know football. Guy has as good of field vision as any back that has ever played. Runs low to the ground and runs through a lot of tackles. Incredibly durable, for a back to have the amount of carries he does and have as few injuries he's had is amazing. On top of that he's a + receiver and blocker for his position.

I can't stand the Cowboys either, but to say Emmit is overrated is just plain ignorant.

Emmitt's overrated because he ran behind a good offensive line? So I guess Payton had a bunch of bums on his offensive line.

To say he is overrated is ridiculous. He is one of the top 10 backs ever (#5 on my list) and he earned every oneof those yards he got. Im a Cowboys fan and I thought Sanders and Payton were better backs but the bottom line is Emmitt played longer and is going to earn this record
