Not saying Romo is a scrub. He's solid. But all this noise about Romo being better needs to stop. I'm not comparing Marino or Kelly to Eli. All I'm saying in this thread is ELI is better than Romo without a doubt. Play on the field counts.

Re: Amani Toomer says Tony Romo better than Eli Manning

Bounced back and forth about this with a few guys on Twitter earlier.

To sum up my opinion on the argument, I don't think there's a significant difference in the two teams' performance levels (compared to their actual performance levels) if one were to put Eli Manning on the Cowboys and Tony Romo on the Giants.

As a die-hard Cowboys and Romo fan, its hard for me to say that Romo is better than Eli. The way Eli played last year was good but its not like Romo played bad either. Romo is a top 10 QB and the best starting QB in the NFL today that does not have a ring...Still he is not better than Eli

Re: Amani Toomer says Tony Romo better than Eli Manning

You are acting as though it is completely out of the question to compare the two. Both are in that second tier of QBs, they aren't with Rodgers, Brees, P.Manning, or Brady, but they are that second tier of Big Ben, Eli, Romo, and now it looks like Stafford is in there too(if he remains healthy and as good as he was last year)

The argument for Romo to be better than Eli are definitely there. He has the 2nd best all time career passer rating and the 6th all time completion percentage. Both of these are very key stats when it comes to a Quarterback.

Eli on the other hand is below the top 40 on both of those categories in which Romo is top 6 in. And Eli is not top 10 in any category at all.

Looking past the stats, Eli has Romo beat with 2 super bowl victories. However in my personal opinion, players should not be ranked based on how many rings they have. I think Dan Marino is the 2nd best QB to ever play, and I think Sanders is the best RB, and I don't care who you are, you have to admit both of those are top 5 at their position. So really I don't take championships victories into account when individually ranking players. At least in the NFL I do not since it takes a more well rounded team than say in the NBA where 1 or two superstars can completely carry a team on their shoulders.

So really if you look at it, Romo is a better QB than Eli on paper, he has the numbers to back that up.

Re: Amani Toomer says Tony Romo better than Eli Manning

I think Eli and Romo are more or less the same the major difference is that Eli can get very hot in the stretch of the season whereas Romo seems to have a breakdown more often than not when all the chips are on the line though to be fair to him some of his disappointments aren't just him alone.
