Dumb Question About Superbowl Champions

How do we know if a team is the best in the league (Superbowl winners) if they don't play all 31 teams in a season?

In every other sport, they play every team at least once.

All the MLB teams don't play each other, and I'm pretty sure the NBA and NHL teams don't either.

Re: Dumb Question About Superbowl Champions

The team that wins the Superbowl isn't always the best team in the league.

Re: Dumb Question About Superbowl Champions

They are the best in the league because they won every game in the Playoffs. The NFL season would never end if they played EVERY team.

Yup, but they won it all, and that's all that matters.

Our(American) sports are set up much differently. Especially football to where it is one and done.

I know the Premier League probably has the most ideal set up, but not sure that would work here.

It's often the healthiest or hottest team that wins it all. And honestly, I like it like that. It means a team can sneak in, upset a few teams, and win it all.

A coach on the hot seat weeks before can dream up a defense to stop the unstoppable and "shock the world."

Great storylines, great drama, great games.

You can only play who is on your schedule. You don't need what if's if you just win the game at hand. Excuses are for losers.

Not sure why it even matters. If the Heat played the Bobcats once last year... and lost, should that mean they aren't the champs? If so, then who is?

If every NFL team played every other it doesn't mean they'll win all those games. The Skins beat the Giants twice last year. Should the Skins be the champs? Or do we throw out the post season all together? Then what, a BCS type of system? It's just not that simple. There are pluses and minuses to every possible set up... I think the current NFL set up is one of the best it could be.
