Redskins Have The Worst Fanbase

I will say this about the Redskins. My dad is an Eagles to Redskins convert. As a boy growing up in 50s - 60s and living in South Jersey he loved the Eagles. Loved them all the way into the 70s, but when he left Jersey for college at ECU and then eventually moved to VA, only games he could watch were the Redskins. From late 70s through 80s Redskins had some of their best years.

By the time I was stationed at Quantico, he had Redskins season tickets.

I use to go to a lot of Redskins games. I would go there proudly w/ my Eagles jersey, or sometimes I would wear a Dallas sucks T-Shirt that had an Eagles logo...that was unifying lol.

We had seats in the same section for many years, I got to know many Redskins fans, and most of them were pretty cool. There were jokers who would start stuff in the restroom but nothing ever really escalated because they were some punks lol.

The main difference I could see from going to numerous Redskins games and from the handful of games I saw at the Vet and at the Linc...the Eagles fans are far more engaged into the game. There are way too many Redskins fans on the concourse, mostly socializing etc. At an Eagles game at the Linc, you were hardpressed during gametime to find really anybody in line or chatting/etc.

At a Redskins game there were sometimes more people on the concourse outside of my section then there were people sitting in my section. Maybe that is because the football was not as good? That's not an attempt to troll, just the plain truth...at least prior to the RGIII era.

I would agree with this, and while I won't defend those people. I still think part of it stems from people not being "local" in addition to the onfield product was pretty terrible. Last season was the first in years where I didn't go to a Skins game. Having been born in Northern VA, and living in Central MD for highschool, then being stationed at NSA in 2005 and now working back in NOVA, the skins are my team. When I got to a Ravens game in Baltimore I am less interested in the game and usually spend half of the 3rd quarter walking around seeing friends and stuff like that. I NEVER do that at a skins game. People say I'm not all that much fun to go to games with becuase I focus too much on the game, and the "deep" football stuff.

But your point is a valid one. Like I you said your dad was around during the "glory days" and I know that when the skins are successful people are less intersted in the distractions and more so the game.

Someone close this thread please even though im not a Redskin fan I lived there my whole life(only 19) and I can say those are some of the most passionate fans out.There fan base is the Raiders of the East.They go to alot of games and aren't fickle at all always with there team 24/7 they have a very strong fan base and anyone from the DMV would know that.

I don't think so. I'd say the Rams fans are the worst. They only pack their stadium when they have a winning record. Otherwise it's half empty.(I.e. band wagoners).

Whereas the Skins among other teams sell out regardless..

The Ravens, Bears, Bengals, Lions, Browns, Packers, Steelers, Vikings, Texans, Falcons, Colts, Panthers, Jaguars, Saints, Titans, Buccaneers, Bills, Cowboys, Dolphins, Giants, Patriots, Eagles, Jets, Redskins, Broncos, Cardinals, Chiefs, 49ers, Raiders, Seahawks, Chargers, and Rams all have some horrible fans.
