Cousins has been the back-up on the team since week 1. Didn't hear any outrage then. Rex Grossman is Rex Grossman the Shannahans know what he is and what he can do, they also watch practice every week and see who is performing at a level that they are comfortable with. I trust there judgement in picking Cousins or Grossman.

That said, their judgement in having a rookie QB, back up a rookie QB is atrocious. That part of the decesion is awful, but ovbiusly Cousins showed them something since training camp to be the #2 QB on the roster.

I do agree with you on the play calling. This was an awful game from the offense. They looked out of sync all game long in the passing game. RGIII's mechanics were poor before the injury. Lots of inaccurate passes and poor footwork. I liked the running plan, but they got away from it too soon. In week 1 you let Alfred Morris run the ball 28 times, this week he gets 17 carries, and still went over 100 yards. I liked they they attacked the edges of the defense, get those DLmen running sideline to sideline and have them gassed for the PA boot leg (which they only ran once).

It was another entertaing game, which may be enough to keep butts in seats and Shanny as the HC, but they better shore up the back end in the off-season and get some depth at the pass rushing positions.
