Well, I will have to agree to disagree with you all.
The kid has accounted for 9 fumbles in his 3 years with only 17 TDs. That is not a big payoff, IMO, in fact, I feel it hurts the team. Many of these fumbles could easily have been avoided had he simply tucked the ball tight into his body - ie. basic football fundamentals - instead of dangling it carelessly for all to steal away. This doesn't even account the many pass incompletions and INTs he has caused from lack of knowing how to read a defense, follow the proper adjustment, or simply knowing how to run his routes.
This is the guy's third year, the year all wideouts are supposed to "get it". Yet we routinely see the same mistakes the guy made as a rookie: arguing with officials over non-calls, getting rattled easily by trash-talking defenders (who by the way know to instigate Dez to throw him off his game), attempting to catch balls with his body, poor body language, throwing fits on the sidelines, etc. It's one thing to be emotional and passionate, it's another thing to allow those emotions to cloud the task at hand.
The kid simply needs to grow up and it seems no one is holding him accountable. The guy is a true talent, but again, there seems to be no structure for a young man who desperately needs it. I'm happy the Cowboys were able to get him at the time of the draft, but it appears they are going to squander this young man's talents.

Agreed, especially with the notion that Dallas was probably the worst possible destination for Bryant.
Coming out of college Dez desperately needed a team that would provide structure and demand accountability both on and off the field. Instead he got an owner who is so in love with the notion of starpower that he saw fit to hand Bryant the fabled #88 jersey before he had ever set foot on an NFL field.
Genius.
