They will always be compared because they went 1 and 2 in the same draft and they're both QB's, but that's where it stops. And eventually I think the debates between the two will die down. The reason Peyton and Brady were debated about so often is because they played each other every single year(and still do, and will next year too lol). It's easier to compare those two because of that. You don't really see debates between Rodgers and Brady or Brees and Peyton on here too often unless it's in a "rank your top 10 qbs" thread.

That's not where I was going with that comparison because the same points can be said about Brady vs. Manning in terms of lining up against each other.

My point was mainly, you could have two really good rookies that grow to be the dominant QB of their respective conferences. Bird was the man of the East. Magic was the man of the west. It was 1A and 1B with no specific designation to who was 1A. Because RG3 and Luck would almost never play each other on the field, the debates would go on for days. We haven't had that in the NFL ever I don't think.

Emmitt and Barry were in the same conference but different ages and team quality

Montana/Marino was pretty close in talent, but they were not in the same draft class.

This is quite the unique scenario of two incoming rookies being picked in the top 3, not being busts, both making impacts, and going forward as possible top players of the league at their position. All I was getting at is this ain't Brady/Manning, this is some ish we ain't never seen before going down..

Yeah, not seeing the Magic/Bird comparisons at all.

I want to, but I just can't see it at all.

Luck had a pretty poor game until those last couple drives. Under 50 % completion, 3 picks; he wasn't doing well. With that being said, those last couple drives were incredible. When he gets in that no-huddle, it's scary. I still think RG is the more consistent passer, but only time will tell.

That final play was not Andrew Luck. What we saw on that last play was Detroit's terrible secondary. Absolutely nobody remotely recognized that underneath route. Any schmoe could have won on that play.

With that said, Luck did a heck of a job on those last few drives. I just am not going to give him that last play when it was a simple crossing route with no defender within 5 yards.
