Re: Should the Jets move to L.A

The NFL should shuffle the divisions. The Colts and Titans are in the AFC South, despite how far north they are compared to the other teams. The Broncos, and especially the chiefs, are nowhere near the west side of the country. Then we have the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East.

The point I'm trying to make is that they need to reorganize the divisions so they match their geological locations.

What division would you put the Broncos and Chiefs in? The North? Certainly not the east or the south.

Dallas in the NFC East is purely a historic assignment. Dallas started out in the NFL's western division in 1960 when they began their expansion season one year ahead of schedule; they were realigned to the NFL's eastern division in 1961 to make way for the expansion Minnesota Vikings.

From that divisional reassignment is where the seeds for all of Dallas' current divisional rivalries with Washington, New York, and Philadelphia were planted, and by-and-large Dallas has been paired with all three of these teams in every division realignment ever since.

Fun fact - the deciding vote for placing an NFL expansion team in Dallas was cast in the Cowboys' favor only because of a rights dispute over the song "Hail To The Redskins".

50+ year old rivalries > division names not all fitting perfectly.

Considering Oakland, San Diego, Denver, and Kansas City have been together since the AFL, it makes perfect sense to break them up!

I still miss playing the Seahawks twice a year.

Yeah that argument no longer applies thanks to college football. Texas and Texas A&M played every year for over 100 years. And now they don't.
