No Sunday Ticket for PS3 this year

In the off chance that anyone was hoping to use this again, Sunday Ticket won't be available on the PS3 this year.

I know it was something we were considering if we could get north of $300 in savings switching from DirecTV. Instead DirecTV threw a bunch of free stuff at us and we stayed (which is their usual business practice). Was nice to have a non-DirecTV legal alternative, though I never used it.

Can't read the article, does it by chance mention if there's a chance it will be on the ps4?

No mention, or explicit reason for losing it. Suggestion is this could be in part due to MS's new partnership with the NFL (much of which is to be announced/seen, a lot of it is broadcast partnership like the Surface branding on the side of replay booths) and the consolation is the Live Events app that was released this week that will let you see things like WWE PPVs.

Damn that sucks. I cancelled my subscription because my mom signed up for Direct TV this year and got Sunday Ticket Max for free. Was going to sign in under her account on my PS3 but oh well, guess I'll have to miss watching the Chargers go 4-12 this year.

I'm wondering if Microsoft is going to provide a cheaper alternative to DirectTV. Of all the monopolies in this world, DirectTV having one on the NFL is among the worst.

I used in on the PS3 last year and the first four weeks were pretty rocky in terms of picture quality and at some point games timing out. This year I plan on streaming it from my Mac to my Apple TV, if the quality is decent I'll end up only paying $50 bucks to watch every game on my big screen.

I'll be surprised if it's more than the app functionality on the Xbox One (fantasy football integration, etc), I think a lot of their partnership is media and branding related.

If anything more we'll find out soon enough though.
