I was surprised they got that one since they missed about 3-4 on us throughout the game if that Fox clock was correct. Either way, not losing any sleep.

Did they actually call it before the play clock hit 0? Or are people just mad that they called it on time when pretty much every other team gets like an additional second before they're called for it?

The snap and it switching to 0 were pretty much simultaneous.

1 timeout. 1st and 10 at 2 minute warning. Had they just ran the ball no penalties the Lions should have been getting the ball back with about 25 seconds on their own 10 and no timeouts. Had to have been somewhere in the 97% chance of winning the game.

Unlike last week where I think the Lions too charge and won that game, there is no doubt the Falcons handed the Lions this one. Reminds me of I think the Dallas game when they took a penalty running down clock on third down under 2 min warning or the Chicago game when Marion Barber ran out of bounds stopping clock when Lions had no timeouts. Just complete bonehead plays that leave you scratching your head.

I swear I've heard the way officials call delay penalties is they watch when the clock hits zero, then look to see if the ball has been snapped, if it has then there's no call, so you get that half second at 0 where it's possible to snap it before the ref turns his head.
