Great win for the Panthers, they could have settled for a FG,
they went for the win.

What were Sherman and Chancellor saying to each other after Olsen's TD?

They were arguing about who had deep zone responsibility, it looks like. Sherman hit a flat zone even though there was already an LB covering that zone.

According to the NBC broadcast there were 2 different play calls coming in. One for man and the other zone.

For all the flack Sherman gets for how often he drops into a deep third zone, he is actually far better in man than he is in zone. It is not uncommon for him to play a underneath zone aggressively when he has deep third responsibility.

I did not see the play, but under the Seahwaks scheme how often would Sherman have underneath responsibility and Chancellor have deep responsibility??

They play a plain Cover 3 scheme.

Chancellor usually hooks to cover the intermediate routes and to clean up for the underneath stuff. Sherman almost always plays a deep zone.

I know they play a single high scheme, but that doesn't mean they do the same thing all the time.

Are there no times where Cam drops deep and Sherman holds the flats?

I did not see the play, were they in their single high look? If so it would be hard to keep a straight face hearing Sherman argue that Cam had deep responsibility.

The thing is... the Hawks' playcalling tends to be redundant, on both sides of the ball. If I had to guess, I'd say Chancellor goes out into deep coverage probably less than 5% of all his snaps. He simply doesn't have the range to cover a deep third.
