Bill Simmon's take on the lockout

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...simmons/050204

I think XHL could work ..... for a year.

Have mandatory fighting every 5 mins, get Sumo wrestlers to be in net, have cheerleaders by the benches, etc......

Re: Bill Simmon's take on the lockout

uhh.......NO THANKS

Tho I saw Jeremy Roenick on TSN last night and he was saying some players could cross the picket lines if the NHL has replacement players next season. I think that would be one of the most interesting things to happen.

I have a feeling the owners are going to break the Union and Goodenow will have to face a revolt.

I think it's because everyone knows that a salary cap would help the sport, but the players can't give that much ground because they make so much money with the status quo

Re: Bill Simmon's take on the lockout

The nhl should just raid the Quebec Semi-Pro league, DEL, and SM-Liiga to fill the void just get whatever players they can and hold a fantasy draft type thing for them. I would love to see Dominic Roussel, Andrei Trefilov, and Stephane Richer back in the NHL and this is the only way it'll ever happen.

Re: Bill Simmon's take on the lockout

Roenick said the only players that would cross the line would the 3rd-4th line players. It's funny how these players are still stingy on the Salary Cap, but yet the big name players are going to the minor leagues where there are caps to play for less money.
