Re: The Official Thread of the Philadelphia Flyers (Established 2005)

I really think JVR takes off. We saw a taste of it last playoffs. I truly think he's going to be a dominating force and take over very nicely for Carter's scoring touch. Hopefully he's not as streaky but spreads it out more consistently. With Giroux's vision, JVR & Jagr are going to just have to be in the right spot, and they know how to put it away.

Interested in Bryzgalov. With all the changes, it's kind of been lost in the shuffle that he's the main reason for all the changes (sacrificing Richards & Carter's contracts to fit him in). If we don't see a Cup in the next 3 years, this move will be a failure. Simple as that. We got our top flight goalie, there's no excuses.

Schenn has been recalled...Rinaldo and Zolnierczyk to Adirondack.

Kinda sucks for Harry Z, score your first goal then get sent down the next day

Welp, JVR was injury plagued, Giroux & Jagr panned out well (specifically G), and Bryz was up & down but I'm fairly confident in him putting together a more consistent year this upcoming season.

Stand by the 3 year statement. We should see a Cup here in a year or two as the young guys grow. Remember, Couts and Schenn were just rookies, and while they disappeared at times, it was their first taste.

Lots of talk about the Flyers West (aka the Kings) winning the Cup and us exiting in Round 2. Stay the course, Flyers & fans. We're gonna get ours. That's been my message.

I wish I could be as optimistic as you are, but it's hard when Homer is going after overrated salary nightmares like Rick Nash instead of rebuilding the D.

As a leafs fan, I agree. I think this was what both teams needed. I think they both needed fresh starts, and Luke Schenn will be happy because he gets to play with his brother. We needed size up front and JVR gave us that. Even trade, I'm happy.
