I'm hoping the Blues hold on as well. They've been down for a while now and I think many forget that they had one of the longest playoff qualification streaks not that long ago. And Bill Clement & Gary Thorne like to talk about how great a hockey city it is in NHL 09, so it must be true...

I'm also glad in a way that Minnesota will miss out. It's one of the best hockey markets in the US and they're stuck with a boring team that has been spinning its trapping wheels since the lockout. Hopefully this will finally cause them to re-examine their approach...

I think it's safe to say that the United Center roof will absolutely blow off during the anthem...

They've been craving playoff hockey for a good while now...

My Predators are still hanging in there. Barely. A Jackets win tomorrow night would be really nice.

At least we clinched. It was ugly, but we clinched.

Re: The 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs

I'd be very happy if the East seedings stayed the way they are right now:

- Malkin/Crosby vs Brodeur
- Ovechkin vs Avery on Broadway
- Flyers/Canes in a high-scoring, "who-the-hell-knows-who's-gonna-win" series
- Bruins/Habs, 'nuff said

Meanwhile, the lower seeds in the West (Jackets, Ducks, Blues) could cause a lot of grief. As much as I admire Nashville's persistence, I really hope they don't make it, because they're almost certainly going to run out of gas, and I want to see the Sharks and Wings challenged in the first round.

Go Wings! WoOOOoooOOOoooo! Finally, the real hockey season is about to begin. Playoff hockey, nothing like it! No other sport has you up until 4am watching a overtime classic where every play has you on edge, playing with your emotions.

Actually, right now, Columbus is looking at a different seed right in the eye.

If I were a betting man, I'd say it's going to be Columbus and Detroit.
