Re: 2012 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals: Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Philadelphia Flyer

Great analysis, Fiddy.

I can't recall any good scoring chances for the Penguins after the first period.

Yeah, whoever was talking about Bryzgalov is an idiot. First goal was just a great chipped backhand by Crosby, second goal was a 2 on 1, yeah it was save-able but not one you're counting on, and the last one was just freakish.

I've said this for years now, but Fleury is the Penguins weak link. He's athletic as hell so he can rob you point blank time to time, but I think his rebound control is poor. Not sure what happened with Briere's second goal, and Voracek's GWG was a rebound he didn't control... though good on Voracek for being in the right place at the right time. It's a bad combo of lax defensemen and poor rebounds, and the Flyers go to the net well.

That said, the Pens are going to be hungry in Game 2 on Friday night. Flyers are playing with house money at the moment, but Game 2 is going to be huge.

if it wasnt for Fleury, the Pens may have finished in 8th place thus year and even missed the playoffs last year. he isnt the problem, the d play in front of him is, as well as the puck possession by the forwards as well.

2nd Briere goal redirected off of Crosby's shin pads..

1st Flyers goal, nice play by Danny..

2nd Flyers goal, off of Sid and in.. (bad faceoff puck pursuit by Pens d after a clean win by Sid)

3rd Flyers goal, horrible 2 attempts to clear puck, kept in by Flyers, a great tip in by Schen.

4th Flyers goal, terrible zone play by Pens, un lucky bounce off of Letang, and right place at right time by Voracek's (bad play by Staal just watching there and not taking man)

IMO, all 7 goals really were not the goalies fault at all.

Pens need game 2, badly!!

Reference to this series (and thread) being like a WWE steel cage match. (Apparently Shea Weber is jealous and wants in on the fun).

I for one would welcome Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler calling this series.

"GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY! THAT'S CHRIS PRONGER'S MUSIC!"

*Pronger emerges from stands, hits Crosby with steel chair, smirks*

That was a make up for the non-icing call on one of the Pens goals.

Re: 2012 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals: Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Philadelphia Flyer

Are we ready for Game #2 tonight, fellas? It got it here so quickly!

I'm working tonight, but I'll be first out so hopefully it's slow and I can catch the full 3rd period. Then again, we're kinda a sports-oriented place, so it may be packed... but they'll have the game on the TV's, so I can scoreboard watch anyway.

LET'S GO FLYERS!
