Gonna be nice to open up the ice a bit. Have to get the most out of Parise, Suter and Vanek while they can. Hopefully the thuggery stays in Anaheim.

They will most likely buy out Vanek contract. If they don't, then it would be a suprise to me. But i do see them buying out Vanek contract.

Laine & Matthews head-to-head at the World Championships right now.
It's the battle of the May 9th, 2016th century!

Vanek has 1 year left, so I could imagine the Wild seeing if Boudreau can get anything out of him. Plus he might be extra motivated in a walk year. As it turns out, a NMC doesn't stop a team from buying out a player.

Re: NHL Off-Topic thread

Read some rumblings that there is an extremely small, outside chance that Carolina moves to Vegas.

Two sources (including an NHLPA source) have said it's been discussed by both the league and union.
But both sources maintain the chances of it happening are very low.

It would certainly help the Vegas franchise start with a stronger roster.

I wonder if such a move would allow Nashville to move into the East? Have to believe that organization would love that.

I don't have anything against the Hurricanes. They've been mediocre to struggling since winning the Cup, and the market supported them well for a long time. There's probably more money to be made if they go to Vegas though.

I'm sure Nashville would love moving to the East.

But lets play pretend and say the 'Canes move to Vegas.
That would make an even 15 in both conferences.
I would guess that the NHL would then want to expand to Quebec and Seattle?

I still think Maine would be a viable option.

This is all sorts of messed-up.
Linden Vey's father was plotting to murder his estranged wife and mistresses husband:

Police told Taylor that Brigitte Vey tipped them to an alleged murder plot in which Vey’s wife was going to die in a house fire and Taylor would die of an overdose on Halloween.
