What your semi-finalist teams for the Champions League?

Didn’t realize that Bayern aren’t allowed to have any fans away to Arsenal for the first leg due to setting off some fireworks at the Stadio Olimpico

Idiots

I thought it was throwing them onto the pitch, which is even worse, but either way it's wonderful because Arsenal can still use the seats and does not have to leave them empty.

Re: 2023-24 UEFA Competitions Thread

2 very entertaining ties yesterday for the somewhat neutral. All to play for in the 2nd leg is all you can ask for as a fan of the game.

Pretty big call at the end of the Arsenal-Bayern game. I thought the ref did a great job of getting it right. Saka and Havertz should have been booked for diving but Kane should have been sent off for his elbow to Gabriel (I think it was him) when doing his normal backing into a player while they’re in the air. If I’m Arteta I have the video team send a compilation of Kane doing that to UEFA before the 2nd leg. It’s borderline mad how often he gets away with endangering players. In the NBA and NFL that’s an ejection, fine, and suspension for repeat offenders. In footy it’s “just a part of the game” smh

I thought Real let City get away with one. Missed too many chances in the first half and gifted Bernardo that free kick goal with a terrible wall and positioning by Lunin. Rodri, Foden(apart from the goal), Halaand, and their defenders were all poor yet they still managed to score 3 and basically force Real to win at the Etihad where they haven’t lost in a while. They’re there for the taking in the UCL and the League.

Yeah, the elbow was to Gabriel. Kane looked back at him, moved backwards, and only swung one arm back. Blatant and intentional, but he's been doing it for years (while not winning anything).

Confident for the 2nd leg?

No Davies
Gnabry and Sane both go off injured
Eric Dier starting

Feeling good, but no matter what happens, the progress the club has made in the last few years is impressive. More importantly, they look to be set up well for the future.

As one of the main people calling out Kane in here for a long time, I actually think that one is more in the “looks way worse in slow motion” category.

A yellow there is fine, it looks bad in slow motion partly because Gabrial makes every contact on him look bad. Legit a way worse diver than Ben White and gets away with embellishing far more.

Also hilarious that Barca having a bad season are somehow still in PSG’s heads.

Second leg for all ties is gonna be juicy.
