If Barca gets an injury to one of the star midfielders, they have another just as capable midfielder to step up, no loss in ability.
Very important when you have to play so many league, cup and UCL games.

Cant really say the same for many other teams where an injury to a star midfielder means a lot of damage(i.e. Arsenal).

Besides, they still get paid the same whether they sit on the bench or play.
It's a lot of money to pay for insurance, considering how they've already made it publicly known they want to reduce their debt.

Plus, the point about Cesc getting the same amount of money playing on the bench or not doesn't work in this case. He's extremely competitive and will want to play. He's willing to take a pay cut if he went to Barca, so money is not a factor at all.

Re: The Transfer Thread

The Daily Mail says Gabriel Obertan is on his way to Newcastle.

He didnt play today in the Scholes Testimonial, which to me means he's on the way out. And Dammit it annoys me cause I was on the verge of buying his shirt.

Now we have someone to fill in if Walcott breaks.

But really, looks to be a good signing for the future, but let's hope this is the first of a few this week.
