Kinda surprised nobody is talking about Keita kicking some dude in the chest and not getting sent off for it

It's Liverpool, and it's against Arsenal, and it's English refereeing, AND it's a glorified friendly, I assume many of us just yawned and called it a day.

It's official: Once Arteta wins the League Cup followed by the Europa League, he can triumphantly hold up three fingers.

Saw a stat on Twitter that Alisson has not saved a penalty since arriving at Liverpool. Someone missed one once but he didn't save it. Stat was from a Liverpool reporter.

For those who did not see it: https://streamable.com/m3mouz

It's again the reason several correct decisions against Arsenal were so frustrating last season—there's zero consistency. In 19/20, Arsenal were first in cards received, but eighth in fouls. No team were given more cards per fouls than Arsenal (4.63). Good to see nothing has changed in terms of consistency.

Watford, who committed the most fouls, were given a card every 6.09 fouls. Everton, second most fouls, a card every 6.47 cards. Southampton, fourth most fouls, a card every 7.89 fouls.

Man United committed two more fouls than Arsenal, but received 18 fewer cards.

Even if we account for severity of fouls, the numbers are shocking, and I don't mean from the perspective of officials are out to get Arsenal (although I think there's a long history of skewed perception against Arsenal being fouled or fouling by officials), I just mean the absurd inconsistency. It's insane.

Leicester committed the twelfth most fouls, but have the highest fouls per card number at 9.5. Imagine receiving a card for every ninth foul, on average. That's living the life.

One more random foul statistic I found interesting—biggest gaps between fouls, and fouled.

Aston Villa were fouled 74 more times than they fouled opposition, and Watford fouled opposition 139 times more than they were fouled.

Re: 2020-2021 English Football Thread

I honestly don’t think that was a sending off anyway. It was a legitimate play for a 50/50 and the ball is coming from behind him. Would have been a tough red. I remember Nani getting a red for something similar in the CL years ago and thinking it was extremely harsh.
