Very surprised Pogba stayed on as long as he did. He's been horrid today. Losing Varane and being forced to depend on Maguire has been a killer. He did a fantastic job keeping Atlanta onside.

It’s called sarcasm. Would have assumed that was obvious

If it’s true that United gave Ole 3 games after the Liverpool defeat (I think he gets to finish the year), I think this draw saved his job. A loss in the UCL and a loss to City, although not a given vs City would have probably have Carrick as the interim.

I just don’t know where they would go mid season once Conte was scooped up regardless. It was a way for United to say “out of our hands” if no one clearly better was available and it seems clear they never wanted Conte anyway. It’s “cushy” over in Manchester. We still are in the ideology that no one can ruffle the feathers in Manchester. It’s probably why Jose wasn’t backed after finishing 2nd. There is a former legacy in SAF still looming over everything. I imagine that’s a very difficult aspect to overcome. Ole is here for the year at the very least.
At some point though, it’s on the players to actually perform. It can’t always be the manager. I question some of his decisions but I question more how guys with top wages fail to even do the basic things most players do just out of pride for yourself and club.
