I’d argue what makes this uniquely different is the transfers, new ownership, and hiring then firing Potter in the same season.

It’s pretty ****ing crazy and nothing like Jose’s awful season, for example.

Honestly, the last 2 years have been crazy and that’s saying a lot. The poor planning and lack of a solid organizational structure under Roman fed right into the hands of a naive and inexperienced new ownership group to create the perfect sh** sandwich lol. Signing all of the players we did in the summer without any sense of a strategy and then throwing them on a manager who was the face of the club when we we’re literally operating week-to-week was pretty terrible, especially for someone with the kind of combative personality as Tuchel who was also going thru a divorce at the time so he probably was even more agitated.

We’re used to papering over the cracks and still winning things. We were wrong and probably deserved a few slices of humble pie.

Poch has clashed with owners too so Boehly & company better get their ish together and trim the squad even if that means terminating some of the bad contracts he inherited

English commentators dismissing Guimares putting his studs into someone's thigh as not a red cause it isn't a leg breaker lmao.

I'm expecting Everton to lose to Bournemouth, but still have fans rush the pitch to celebrate and bring out the guard of honor for not getting relegated. Because we don't understand irony or shame.

The attitudes about these kind of fouls among the referees and everyone surrounding the game in England is going to get someone seriously hurt. Not sure if you saw the picture of Gakpo’s chest from Saturday, but it looked like a bear clawed him lmao.

He has been given so much leeway this season as an individual and so many commentators and pundits have sung his praises for being physical when in reality he seemingly has damn near impunity to aggressively foul.

Newcastle, because they’re ‘an underdog and challenging the elite’ or some **** are going to continue to get so much preferential treatment due to:

1. English manager everyone wanted to have a shot

2. Purposely recruiting enough British players to feel like a ‘proper’ football club

3. Already mentioned, but shaking things up at the top

Haven’t watched a ton of their games but he does seem to be incredibly aggressive. Definitely doesn’t get enough whistle.
