This is what I am finding as well. Never would need softs for a race. I think another culprit to lap times not being effected enough by tire wear is the fuel load. Fuel load I am thinking may effect lap times a bit too much, while tire degradation not enough. The combination of them both is causing what we are seeing. Medium to hards every race shouldn't be the strategy for every track and race.

Patch 1.06 today. But nothing fixed that I was hoping for.

F1 Manager 2022 Review - The Wait Is Finally Over

Yeah I’m not seeing this at all. This game is extremely detailed and takes simulation very seriously. I think the problem is that you’ve only probably done a handful of race weekends thus far. For starters compounds change every week, sometimes you’ll have C1-C3, sometimes C3-C5. So the “soft” tire isn’t always the same tire every week. Also different tracks, effect tires completely different. Some tracks are really tough on the softs and therefore doesn’t make them a viable race tire, some tracks aren’t as harsh. In that same vein, some tracks will be scorching hot while others will be nice and cool. There are so many different factors that go into how the tire is performing, it’s not as cut and dry as medium should always be 0.5 quicker than the hard. Two stops are also very very viable if you’re in clean air and can really push the tires. One last thing, when on track if you click the telemetry box on the bottom right, where your drivers options are, it will show you your speed in KPH, as well as MPH. Same with the tires, if you click on them you can see the temps in Fahrenheit.
