It had been a few months since I played this and when I hopped back on I was swerving all over the road. **** was kind of ridiculous. I had some random settings that I got from somewhere before in there, so I reset them back to default and started tweaking from there. I've gotten to the point where I still spin out a fair amount, but it's getting better. Hopefully I can get it together. I wish you could change your control settings without exiting all the way out of the race. That kind of sucks, but it's not a super big deal. Also, adjusting your tire pressure, etc while practicing/qualifying seems to be essential in this game also. Doing that helped a ton.
Yeah, I listen to the game with my Turtle Beach headphones, it's amazing! And I just started doing that with my cars. I lower my tire pressure, and go from there. Seems to help me alot on the road. Especially on Nürburgring.

Papp, have you tried the tilt controls for steering? It works for me for controlling the vehicles in any sane manner. Even after my hiatus from PC, I still manage better with that control method.

No, I haven't. I'll give it a shot and see how I like it.

That tilt control is super hard for me. I can't mess with that one. Got my controls to the point now where the game is still hard as ****, but I can complete clean laps sometimes.. I'm not a very fast driver at all, though. Wish I could zoom through turns without spinning out like the a.i. and guys online are able to do.

Re: Project CARS Available Now For Xbox One & PlayStation 4, Post Your Impressions

I definitely agree that the default control settings feel much better now. They're broken down into 3 pre-sets and I think the intended input type for each of them goes like this:

1: Wheel - I don't have a PS4 Wheel, but I can imagine the super-sensitive steering on this setting probably feels pretty good on one. It's really impossible to use this setting on a controller.

2: Controller - The speed sensitivity 60 - Filtering 40 combination is what really makes this work for a controller user. It doesn't hamper my turning as much as the previous settings I've tried to use and still allows me to make small adjustments on straights without the car jerking all over the place. Would highly recommend as base for controller users, and then just tweak to personal preference

3: Tilt: Haven't messed with this one as much as the other two, but it stands to reason that this one would be motion-sensing as it's the only other input device available. The biggest difference with this one is Controller filtering at 0, which allows a little more freedom when turning. The tradoeff is that you'd better be smooth with those turns, or else you'll be weaving all over the track and hitting walls in no time.

No matter which one you decide to use, keep this in mind - some cars (mostly non-racing ones) in this game start off with cold tires and all start off with cold brakes. It will affect everything about that car's handling until they warm up (the tire and braking display turns from blue to green in the telemetry screen). Don't make a snap judgement about your settings until you're sure that the tires and brakes are warm - it usually takes a few laps on normal courses.

With the last patch (patch 7), tires take forever to warm up on most cars, takes about 4 laps on most circuits to reach optimal temps, the Renault Clio Cup sucks on cold tires.

You know, I didn't know that. Idk why, but I was tuning my stuff like it's on Gran Turismo. I'm usually coming out on the first lap and tuning from there.

Knowing that, I've probably screwed up..
