Rags Reboot Week 1

Week 1 is up and we'll advance on Friday at 9:00pm EST or as soon as everyone is ready. Thanks everyone for your patience with the reboot, I think this will be a better experience over the next 10 monthes on normal progression instead of slowest.

Good luck everyone.

Big Week 1 win for New Mexico over Temple. Quarterback Cole Gautsch had a huge game with 4 TDs through the air and 70 yards on the ground. NM's young defense stepped up in this one behind Bollema's 9 tackles. Final score 42-21.

Re: Rags Reboot Week 1

Not the great start that I was hoping for as I had to use my restart already after becoming extremely frustrated with glitch type plays. I run a speed option, I read it correctly but when I pitch the ball it goes 15 yds backwards and the defense picks it up an runs it in. The next series my hb steps in front of my qb, the pass then hit the back in the head and the DT gets a pick. I was down 21 quick.

After the restart thinks didn't get better, but I was able to get the W in what should be my toughest computer game this season.

MEMPHIS UPSETS BAYLOR IN 4 OT THRILLER

In Mike McDougall's first division one coaching experience as the new head coach at memphis it might turn out to be the most exciting game he will get to coach. When he was asked after the game what he thought of his team edging out there first game in 4 over times he replied " I guess all the hard work in the offseason paid off. We where well condition and disciplined. I knew early after the injuries we where going to have to rely jacob karam to make good decisions and take control of the team and he did just that.

Early in memphis's first drive they lost there starting rb Brandon Hayes to a concussion. How long he will be out depends on him passing the necessary tests. To make matters worse on there second drive 2nd string rb Jai Steib took a nasty hit that saw him fumble the ball and leave the game. We are told he has a strained back and could miss a month of football.

This left the rb duties to to young sophomore carl harris who answered the toll with 20 carries for 83 yards and a school record 4 rushing tds. With another sophomore artaves gibson spelling harris and getting 2 rushing tds himself.

In what could be one of the contenders of game of the year in week one. With memphis and baylor going toe to toe and back and forth through out the game but despite the excellent game of baylor lead by petty they fell just short in what has to be a disappointing beginning to there season. We will see how both teams fare next week with baylor at home again against buffalo and memphis with there home opener against georgia state (joncharles07)

Re: Rags Reboot Week 1

The score does not show it, but the ULL Ragin Cajuns were never feeling threatened from the SEC Razorbacks. Just felt like I Could do whatever I wanted on Offense, but I did keep it under control, and chose to use clock on the drives instead of trying to light it up. zero turnovers for the first time ever sure helped. Only gave up one big play on defense, when Arkansas Running back Jonathan Williams ran over my Lineback and scampered 62 yards for a TD.

Re: Rags Reboot Week 1

Fans going crazy in Murfreesboro

Coach Klein pulls off the huge victory against the #4 Aggies. With the pre-season scrimmage against A&M resulting in 5 INT's, 3 of which going back for a TD, Coach Klein decided to stick to the ground and pound method controlling most of the game with 23:37 TOP compared to A&M's 8:23. Coach Klein was quoted after the win saying, "Our offense really stepped up but it was our defense that won this game for us." The Blue Raiders had 4 game changing TO's, 1 of which was a fumble recovery in the red zone resulting from a huge hit from linebacker TT Barber. MTSU has a huge win that will surely shake the polls.

Re: Rags Reboot Week 1

The one that almost got away.

This game felt North Texas was in control after the 1st quarter, but I couldn't put them away. With about 1 min left in the 1st half, Berglund completed a pass but the hb slipped and fell when he had yards in front of him to convert. Had to settle for a fg after chewing the clock, but gave plenty of time for Idaho to march down the field and get a TD. I march down the field for a 30 yd fg straight on with 4 seconds left, didn't kick it straight so wide right to end the half. NT up 17-14.

2nd half, I score on my opening possession, get a stop. Get to the 5yd line, over compensated and missed wide left. Idaho marches down the field to get within 3. I didn't think much about up, the offense has done well so far, CPU discovers coverage and a pass rush. I was forced to punt and Idaho scores a TD with a 1:36 left in the game. My QB got the team to rally and gets the ball down to the 1 yd line with 8 sec left. 1st down I go goaline give to FB, stuffed for a 1 yd loss. Called TO, from the 2 with 0 timeouts left, I gave the ball to Pegram this time, he gets to give the lead with no time left.

Final NT 31 Idaho 28

Running game was effective, but qb sacks killed the yards. Seamed like CPU gets massive momentum from a missed a FG. Berglund was 29/31 412 yards finding 9 different receivers.
