Had a shootout w/ SDSU this morning. There was not a single punt the entire game as neither D could get a stop. They intercepted me once and I held them to two field goals - otherwise every possession resulted in a touchdown. SDSU, who beat me twice last year, tied the game up w/ a field goal w/ a couple minutes left. I was able to run the clock out and drive down the field for a game-winning field goal as time expired. Big W in the conference opener for New Mexico.

North Texas almost completed a rally of being down 31-0 early in the 3rd quarter to only lose 45-38 in double overtime. 3 first half picks and letting a screen pass to nearly end the 1st half was too much to overcome. Early in the 4th, Warner had a pick 6 and Bowser nearly had a pick 6 too but he fell short. Coach decided to kick the fg for overtime on a 4th and 2 with 30 sec left at the 5 instead of going for it, but the defense was playing great, thought I could have gotten one more stop. FAU's freshmen lb provided great pass coverage with 2 picks and got in the way of several others.
