You can only purchase them, at least I have never received one for free and I have played the game religiously since it came out.

On a related note, I paid for 10 keys recently and when I used them 9 out 10 were decals and only 2 of those I liked.... Ease up on the decals creators.... Wtf! Lol

There's also the trade market to get keys. Unopened crates can net keys. Then once you have items from opening other crates, trade those for more keys.

Yeah, sure you can get lucky opening crates but you're way better off trading keys for items you know you want.

especially the new crates, you can sell those for 3 keys a piece right now. theyll prolly be good for at least 2 a piece through the weekend, until people realize there isnt actually anything good in this one. So sell those overdrive crates right away.

I can't seem to find a way of selling crates. How is that done? When I access a crate it will only allow me to see the contents, use a key to open or buy keys. I see no way to sell them for keys..... What am I missing?

You have to find someone to trade with. Try reddit rocket league exchange or rocket league garage.

Rocketprices is a generally accepted priceguide for trading. Though some items are hard to sell at their prices, others you can sell for more, but it gives you a ballpark range of what your stuff is worth.

Also, just be aware that there are alot of losers out there that might try and scam you or rip you off. Watch a youtube video about trading before actually doing it.

Yup I'm sitting on 100+ keys and I've only bought 5 keys when they first released. I've just flipped new crates as they release into more keys and open a few here and there. I know painted sunbursts got me a couple keys each a year ago, not sure if people still buy them or not.

I got 2 overdrive crates an hour after the patch dropped and got 8 keys for them. Basically for the first couple weeks or so, I trade away all my new crates. That gives the market time to settle and I can buy the items I want for cheap with the keys I made.
