A lot of what you're describing, the "time suck" of time at different menus (I'm assuming you mean lineup, auction, store, etc.) is the appeal to a lot of people for the game mode.

what I can say is the receivers need to be better at fighting for the ball. One on one coverage should be a scary thing for the defense when the ball is thrown in the air that way, not the other way...
