What are the benefits of buying shoes from the store when I can just equip them in the my shoes menu?

If I have a maxed out attribute (3pt 92) can I equip the sleeve and get an extra 2pts which will take it to 94 but 92 is my max?

When I pass to open teammate they won't shoot but when I pass it inside they either get fouled or they missed the shot. So if you guys have any tips feel free to comment and let me know whats up.
