It's all account and online based, that's how they were able to have the Facebook game, so it should be able to transfer over unless there are huge differences between the versions.

Obviously I don't know what they'll do but I think in the past years 2K has started to listen to their gamers, so we'll just have to see.

It is, however, very possible that the game developers have learned from that experience and have focused on next-gen a lot more. I believe this will be the case this time around.
