For sure, I do like the discourse tho (when people put why they like it), but I see what you mean. I have NHL 2K8 on the way from eBay on PS3, it looked good on the reviews I looked up.

For those of you NHLers, I'm looking to get an older NHL game (PS2 or PS3) to play and get fairly immersed in (yes, I'm cheap).

As NCAA 04 or 06 are widely considered the best college football...

You can't go wrong with 06 or 07.
The graphics will be quite a step down (as I'm sure you are aware). I purchased a component cable for my PS2 and that helps some, but it's still a little rough...
