PS 2 glitch maybe?

I played a guy last night who was able to block punt after punt after punt even though I was in max protect!

WTF is this?

I took control of a blocker who was too slow to stop the oncoming...

The ps2 version of this game is simply unplayable to me simply because I'm not able to customize my controller layout.

They made Winky entirely too slow in this game and his jab is useless (too slow) when in reality it's his best punch.

The parry, which some believe to be an equalizer in this game, is the problem. After a parry button users can throw several hooks and uppers which stick users usually cannot after a parry.
