Because at the time they bought the ESPN license, it was 2k5's strong point in their game. So, buying the ESPN license was the nail in the coffin for 2k sports, as any future version of the game...

Have it....it's not very good, though. Choppy gameplay, terrible graphics...and really only a shell of the other console games. (as we should expect, I guess, since it is for the Ipad)
