I actually purchased the next gen version for PS3 and returned it about a week later - which really sucked since I just bought a PS3 this summer and was looking to make the leap to next gen football....

I actually just finished a game using the flexbone with Clemson. It was pretty fun. I'm kinda a flexbone junky because I grew up watching Air Force play.

At first I thought they swung the running game too far in the other direction after it being too easy in '08. I was having a tough time picking up yards...until I finally realized that EA adjusted...

I feel you on your point about strategy in '08. I guess you could say I'm a big game-planning/strategy buff. I like to have a cohesive offense and execute it realistically based on the defense I see....

As some of you know, I switched back to current gen after being disappointed with the gameplay of this year's next gen version. One other thing I was disappointed about was how next gen's playbooks...

If any of you guys still play '04 or are longing for its gameplay, I'd recommend picking up '09 for last gen. I haven't had the extensive testing of it, put it is one of the tightest NCAA games...

Sorry, I misunderstood you when you said that pre-1980s teams were not editable. I thought you meant you couldn't edit their names.

The pre-1980s teams would normally be editable, but DT's rosters were made from the 07 version. Pre-1980s teams did not become available until 08, and thus modding DT's 07 historical rosters for 08...
