Re: ESPN Top 100 list

A testament to his incredible skills with the ball in hand and above all, longevity.

Of the non-centers he ranks near the top but just below the likes of Oscar Robertson (technically the best...

Re: 1/26 - 2/8 Games Discussion Thread

The young man is a stud. Shows warp speed cross and reverse dribbles and can shoot off a step back release. Spot shooting has improved greatly this season. Has the courage to penetrate the lane and...

Re: ESPN Top 100 list

Walton in his prime was just amazing. He had seemingly everything except for outstanding strength.

Re: 75 Greatest NBA Players (NBA 75th season celebration?)

Iverson shot too much despite being a poor outside shooter, initiated many offensive sets with his dribble, and took too many chances on defense. He was incredibly quick, courageous and creative but...

Re: 75 Greatest NBA Players (NBA 75th season celebration?)

My feeling is that Yao’s size, skills, and versatility presented more problems for the opposition than Hill and McGrady did.

Re: 75 Greatest NBA Players (NBA 75th season celebration?)

Wilkins was too one dimensional to make an all time greatest list. For pure entertainment though he is an all timer but a guy like Klay Thompson is a better player.

Re: 75 Greatest NBA Players (NBA 75th season celebration?)

I just can't see them beating any of the top five teams I listed four times in a seven game series. The Bulls would control the pace of the game and their long and elite defenders would contain...

Re: 75 Greatest NBA Players (NBA 75th season celebration?)

Non-bigs-

1. LeBron James- His power, all round skills, and big time leadership make him the best.
2. Kobe Bryant- Everything you could want in a wingman.
3. Dwyane Wade- Lacked only shooting...

Re: ESPN Top 100 list

Yes, he played well in game three but they were down 0-2 in the series so the pressure was off. Why were they down? Because Garnett was disastrous in the clutch in the first two games missing...

Re: ESPN Top 100 list

A truly great big man makes his teammates better by commanding double teams and forcing the defense to bend it's shape. Garnett didn't do that, he shot turnaround jumpers which don't put any foul...

Re: ESPN Top 100 list

The back picks article on Garnett does contain some false claims. Garnett did not have the highest revving motor in NBA history, he just yelled and screamed louder than anyone in history. Garnett was...

Re: ESPN Top 100 list

Well, Anthony was a top five player in the game for me for a brief stretch of time. His best stretch of play was 2009 under the big time leadership of Chauncey Billups. Carmelo showed off his...

Re: ESPN Top 100 list

Another factor to consider is that Clyde would make sure the diagrammed play would be executed on the court as the coach drew it up. Reggie was known for aborting plays to air out a long-ball.

Re: ESPN Top 100 list

Those two were very different types. Lacey was a high post guy who was decidedly finesse. Outstanding passer. Grabbed mostly uncontested rebounds. He could shoot from 15-18 feet with accuracy....

Re: ESPN Top 100 list

Hagan was 6-4 and 215 pounds but played a power game and looked to post up everybody. He could pass and rebound but couldn't defend. Teams nowadays are not going to let a 6-4 guy post up 15 times a...

Re: ESPN Top 100 list

Bellamy was the most talented. 6-11 and 265 pounds with a feathery touch from 15 feet. Lots of power moves in the low post. Great offensive rebounder. Didn't pass or play much defense and was very...

Re: ESPN Top 100 list

Big strong guard who could function as a forward too. 6-6 and 225 pounds. Deadly pull up shooter going left or right. 20 foot shooting range. Could drive and finish strong both ways. Posted up...

Re: ESPN Top 100 list

Iverson was another highly flawed player who doesn't belong on the list. If you are combining the bigs and non-bigs than only Oscar deserves to make the top 10. He was much stronger than west and...
