There are also different types of 3-4 schemes. The Pats run a traditional 2 gapping 3-4 where there are not a whole lot of zone blitzes or trickery from the front 7 (despite Belichick's reputation)....

Depends on the running play. Not every running play calls for a double team on a nose tackle.
