ACQB Subforum Rules: Urgent

Hey, fellas. I have just received correspondence from Pared, and he's asked us to be mindful of the purpose of our subforum if we wish to keep it.

He has asked that only Madden-related materials be discussed here. That would include our M10 and M11-related threads, but not our NCAA or Backbreaker or NHL threads.

I have suggested that we apply for a subforum in the NCAA thread so that we have the same benefit of a discreet and localized setting for league discussion there while also minding the mandate to keep game discussion in the appropriate place.

Until I hear back, let's just keep this in mind.

This sucks but I understand why. I doubt the mods really cared but Im sure they had guys reporting our threads as off topic. Seeing the number of league subforums for NCAA (one with an off-topic thread where they talked about porn stars) I doubt you guys will have trouble getting a NCAA forum as well.

Yeah, SB, my hunch is that someone complained. We're generally left alone here, but every now and again I suppose we're paid a visit. By the letter of the law we are at fault and so have to deal with that.

I told Pared that the head honchos now are CK and LBz; I only relay this information because it was given first to me. CK and LBz can decide how to deal with things administratively.

It might not be a bad idea to consider an alternative site where we can localize all of our league business without consulting or contending with any external authorities. I like the look and layout of OS because it's pretty clean. Do any of you guys have site design abilities?

Re: ACQB Subforum Rules: Urgent

We should be a bit more coy about our thread titles. Also, we can discuss moving other league talk into other sub-forums but maybe keeping a link here putting them all together. For example, I create and update a thread called something like "ACQB Connector" where I link all ACQB threads together and people can use it as a hub to move around beginning at our first subforum.

Thoughts?

I say just use a host site to create your own ACQB forum. It would be much simpler to localize things that way. You could also set mods/asst. commissioners to help monitor and maintain the forum. I am by far no web designer but I think the forum I was able to put together for the MCL league I run is very functional, and has all of the forum abilities many have become accustomed to at OS.

Not to mention there is no one to tell the creator what can and cannot be posted, you also don't have to worry about random people jumping into league business, etc.

Kasey, that's awesome. I love that the answer is to be sneakier, not more obedient. We're a cunning group

There's some pretty cool stuff there, Setfree! It looks like it's pretty feasible then to consider relocation. A few tweaks to make the site easier on the eyes would go a long way, but other than that I think it looks awesome.
