Re: NFC Playoff Picture

For the record, this is how a three-way tiebreak is handled in the NFL:

Quote:
Three or More Clubs

1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games among the clubs).
2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
5. Strength of victory.
6. Strength of schedule.
7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
9. Best net points in common games.
10. Best net points in all games.
11. Best net touchdowns in all games.
Neither Dallas nor Detroit played Carolina, so Detroit's 1 - 0 record against Dallas in head-to-head games would be the determiner (step #1) if Madden abided by NFL league rules.

But I'm pretty sure Madden just does alphabetical by team name (not city name) for 3-way ties.

Re: NFC Playoff Picture

Rams are eliminated from Wild Card contention with a loss to Seattle.

Minnesota steps into the driver seat and would tie with the Giants if the Giants can win against Washington.

Under normal NFL rules, the Giants would win the tie-break thanks to a regular season victory over Minnesota.

But we all know that Madden doesn't use head-to-head to determine any of its tie-breaks, so who knows how the game would decide it if Minnesota and New York end up tied.

If New Orleans wins and makes it a 3-way tie, things become even more unpredictable.

I think the BCS should go to this Madden system to decide who plays for the national championship. Just do it alphabetically. It makes more sense than the system they have now.

We lost Corey Webster, our best corner so it's going to be even tougher now. Bruce Johnson needs to step up. I hope we don't advance until tomorrow night. The holiday makes it tough to play and I haven't heard from basilisk all week.
