Cities Skylines II

It's confirmed to be real and is schedule to be out this year.

If the trailer is any indication that they are going with a more realistic and grounded art style, I will be very happy. I logged hundreds of hours in the first game and unless this one is a flop, I expect to do the same with it.

The question is, how much content from CS and all of its DLCs will be in the base CS2 game.

On one hand Cities Skylines is my favorite city builder game. On the other hand, not looking forward to buying 999 more micro dlc's from a paradox game.

Definitely interested in seeing what all they have added for the sequel.

Yeah I'm really interested to see what they have in the base version of CS2. The next gen upgrade has been fun, but missing the last two DLCs has me slowing down until they are released

Re: Cities Skylines II

The achievements list isn't final, but it does seem to hint towards the base CS II having some features that CS's DLC added.

Disasters
Different types of airports
Renewable energy

Then some new features are hinted.

Seasons
150 tiles

There's more, but I can't remember off the top of my head and reddit is down, so I can't grab the list off of it. I don't expect to see all of the features from the DLC's of the first game in the base game of the sequel, but it does appear some features are being carried forward which is nice. I wasn't expecting too many.

My biggest wishes are a more realistic art style, implementation of tools that recreate popular mods like Traffic Manager, MoveIt, and so on. I want to build realistic looking cities with more realistic road networks without the need for 8,000 custom assets and countless mods installed. Give me that and I am good.

Don't get me wrong, I love the modding scene and can't wait to see it in action for this game also, but certain things definitely need to be in the base game more optimized than a mod can be.

Re: Cities Skylines II

I love cities skylines.

My main hope for this one is that we get more space without needing mods and more stuff with the base game. Some of the DLC has been worth it but some definitely hasn't.

If they deliver on these few things, it will likely be a day 1 purchase. I didn't get the original until it went on sale for the first time. Glad I did though as I have 300+ hours in it.

Re: Cities Skylines II

150 tiles is insane. Hopefully that's the case for the console versions

Re: Cities Skylines II

Developers said the last scheduled update for the first game is in May, so hopefully we begin to get more and more news about II after that. I'm pumped and actually re-installed the first game again(and all my assets and mods despite the hassle that is) out of excitement. And the game will be available on GamePass day one which is awesome.

Re: Cities Skylines II

Played C:S for a good while but downloading countless DLCs just to make it playable was frustrating.. I hope they make vanilla version of it more advanced
